Caitlin Graham
Artist – Printmaker
Caitlin Graham is an artist who lives and works in the Lithgow region of NSW’s Central West. Her highly detailed works, made through the process of lino block relief printing, document the regions interdependence on the extractive industries of coal and historically iron and oil shale. Combining the documentary traditions of conceptual photography with the high contrast and monochromatic qualities of block printing, Graham’s works capture the complex social and industrial histories of place as well as it’s natural beauty. She aims to share the distinct perspective of her community with a broader audience and shed light on some local issues.

Born, raised, and living in the Lithgow region, NSW, Caitlin Graham (b. 2001) held her first solo exhibition titled “Water, Wood + Ink” in March of 2022 at the Gang Gang Gallery Lithgow, NSW. Since then, she has shown works in multiple other group shows across Sydney, the Central West and Australia. Graham also has her work held in a variety of public and private collections including the National Art School Archive and Centennial Coal’s head office and has been a winner and finalist in several art prizes also situated across Sydney, Perth and the Central West of NSW. She has recently completed her third and final year of a Bachelor of Fine Art at the National Art School, Darlinghurst, NSW, in 2022.
Caitlin has also run and assisted in running several artistic workshops in printmaking, painting and drawing for both adults and children. If you, your school or institution are interested in participating or hosting a workshop please contact Caitlin for more information.
