Rocky Waterhole
2021, Lino Block Relief Print, 74 x 55cm, Ed. of 4
Rocky Waterhole on the Cox’s River near Lake Wallace’s dam wall is a special place to me and my family. It is a place we frequently see on walks with our two dogs, and we love to see the natural changes in water level, grass colour and watching the wildlife. I wanted this artwork to encapsulate the movement of the stream and evoke the sounds, smells and feeling of being in a place such as this.

Conveyor Gantry CP01
2021, Lino Block Relief Print, 55 x 74cm, Ed. of 4
One of my Dad’s jobs as an electrician at Springvale coal mine is to check that the coal belts are running smoothly, and this is him doing just that. The coal mine setting is rich in visual opportunities and inspiration for me. The dynamic and elaborate machinery and workers all sprinkled in coal dust and mud are something to be celebrated in our industrial community.

Hivemind
2021, Etching with rollover, 43 x 35cm, Ed. of 1
Hivemind reflects upon the interconnectedness of humanity due to modern technology and the idea of the hivemind. I have represented this concept through the everyday zebra crossing with the people’s shadows taking the shape of bees. To further reinforce this idea of interconnectedness every character in the image is touching or overlapping another with their bodies or shadows.

Wattles on Chifley Road
2021, Lino Block Relief Print, 37 x 37cm, Ed. of 6
Walking along Chifley Road with my Mum we came across huge and splendorous wattle trees in full bloom. This artwork captures a delicate and intimate moment with a low hanging branch. The soft flowers sitting gracefully within the circular window.

Morph
2021, Lino Block Relief Print, 35 x 112cm, Ed. of 4
Inspired by M.C. Escher’s Metamorphose (1939-40), Morph demonstrates my exploration into the morphing of circles into triangles and vice versa. Although seemingly a simple process, I quickly discovered that designing this artwork would not be easy. Employing mathematics, I was able to create the design and carve this mind-bending morph.

Hills Hoist, Colourbond and Gums
2021, Lino Block Relief Print, 37 x 46cm, Ed. of 6 for each black and, black and grey
Hills Hoist, Colourbond and Gums reflects the nostalgic Australian domestic narrative. Inspired by a photo I took in my own backyard; I wanted this artwork to feel familiar for audiences and evoke memories of the quintessential Australian lifestyle. I also included my obsession with clouds and the awe-inspiring presence they have over our lives.
